Create a tournament

From your group’s Activities page, choose Create activity, then Tournament. The tournament creator keeps divisions, team entries, competition setup, and registration in one guided flow.

  1. Add the tournament basics

Enter the name and description, then choose the tournament activity. Set who can see the tournament and choose the lead host and any additional hosts.

Use the description for the complete event details, including rules, parking, entry instructions, and what players should bring. Paragraphs and line breaks are preserved, and you can read the full description again before publishing.

Upload a 16:9 cover image when the tournament needs its own branding. If you leave it empty, the tournament uses the current group or activity artwork.

  2. Create the divisions and entry options

Add each division players can enter. For every division, choose its name, Play Format, and maximum number of entries. The Play Format determines whether an entry represents one player or a team.

Each division shows a summary of its entry limit, entry price, and eligibility as you configure it.

Team divisions also define the minimum confirmed players needed to compete and the maximum roster size. Use the optional eligibility and registration controls only when that division needs different rules.

Choose who pays, the entry price, and when payment is collected. Finish setting up group payments before publishing a paid tournament.

  3. Set the tournament and registration dates

Enter the tournament’s start and end dates, times, and time zone. For a multi-day tournament, use the complete date range.

Choose whether registration opens when the tournament is published or at a specific time. Close registration when the tournament starts or early enough to confirm entries and prepare competition.

Venues and courts belong to the match schedule. Add them after saving the tournament rather than treating the tournament date range as its court schedule.

  4. Plan the competition

Choose a recommended setup or another format supported by the Play Format. Review the preview for each division, including pool sizes, advancement, minimum games, and estimated match count.

A division follows the tournament setup unless you customize it. See Set up tournament competition for the format choices and editing rules.

  5. Review and publish

Review the tournament, divisions, registration window, competition setup, and payment policy. The review includes the cover image, full description, and each division’s competition summary. Use Edit beside a section to return directly to those settings.

Choose Save draft to return later or publish when the information players need is ready. The draft status shows when changes still need to be saved.

Open the group’s Activities page and choose Drafts. Continue the draft from its saved step, or delete it if the tournament will not be used.

Open Manage tournament and follow the Tournament organizer guide. The Overview recommends the next available action as entries arrive.
