Run a multi-day tournament
A multi-day tournament has one competition lifecycle and several playing days. Create a separate schedule window for each day so players can understand where and when play resumes.
A stage is a competition phase, such as pool play or a championship bracket. It is not a calendar day: one stage can span several days, and one playing day can contain matches from several stages or divisions.
Build the multi-day schedule
Section titled “Build the multi-day schedule”- Open Competition → Schedule and choose the stage.
- Add the first date, available hours, location, and courts.
- Choose Add playing day and repeat for every date.
- Use After the previous match when each court runs continuously without dependable per-match times. Use At fixed times when starts are firm.
- Select Extend tournament dates when a playing day falls outside the current tournament date range.
- Prepare the draft and review every day before publishing.
Do not create one continuous window across midnight. The date, opening time, closing time, and courts belong to each playing day.
Help players plan
Section titled “Help players plan”Use View tournament → Schedule to check each day. Players can select a day or return to Show all days. A court-order match shows its position and court opening time without promising an exact start.
Post an update before each playing day with arrival instructions and any changes. Tournament check-in happens once per entry, and each playing day has its own attendance record. Captains can confirm their team for the day with We’re here, and you can review or correct the day on the Run tab. See Check in entrants and track attendance.
Finish a playing day
Section titled “Finish a playing day”Before leaving the venue:
- Confirm results for matches that finished.
- Leave no match marked in progress when play has ended.
- Review unresolved advancement and the next day’s opponents.
- Check the next day’s public schedule from a player’s point of view.
The tournament remains active between playing days. Do not complete and restart it for each date.
Carry unfinished matches to another day
Section titled “Carry unfinished matches to another day”Open Competition → Schedule → Edit or move selected matches. Select the unfinished matches, choose the new day, and enter the reason. The preview also includes dependent bracket matches whose timing must follow those matches.
If the new date falls outside the tournament date range, include Extend tournament dates in the preview. Resolve court, rest, and dependency conflicts, then publish. Completed and in-progress matches remain fixed.
After publication, open the player schedule for the destination day and post an update describing the change.
Complete the tournament
Section titled “Complete the tournament”After the final day, open Competition → Results. Completion readiness lists unfinished matches, pending stages, and open scheduled activities. Resolve each item, then choose Complete tournament once for the entire tournament.
