Manage group settings

Group settings control how your group appears, who can join, and which defaults new events use. Some settings are available only to group administrators or other members with the required permission.

  1. Open the group settings

On mobile, open the group and choose Edit Group. On web, select the group from the organizer dashboard and open Settings. If you do not see an edit or settings action, your role does not have that permission.

  2. Update the group profile

On mobile, you can update the group name, type, description, logo, and banner. Save the changes from the edit screen. The group’s public page uses these details when players discover or open the group.

  3. Choose who can discover the group

Set visibility to one of the options shown by your client:

    • Public — anyone can discover the group in search.
    • Unlisted — the group is hidden from search and people need its link.
  4. Set membership and event defaults

On mobile, administrator settings include membership approval, guest defaults, waitlist notifications, and the promotion time limit. These are defaults for the group; review the event form before publishing because an individual event can have its own settings.

  5. Review payments and billing separately

Use the group’s payment setup to connect Stripe, check whether charges and payouts are enabled, and review the group plan. See Set up event payments for the payment-specific flow.

The mobile group editor exposes these administrator settings when configured for the group:

  • Require membership and auto-approve new members
  • Allow guests, maximum guests per registration, and maximum guests per event
  • Waitlist notifications and the promotion acceptance time limit
  • Cancellation policy text shown to players
  • Default free-cancellation cutoff for deferred paid events
  • Subscription and billing
  • Stripe payment setup

The web Settings page exposes group visibility, paid-event timing, Stripe Connect, and subscription or billing controls based on your permissions.

Review the group’s public page and the next event after saving. If a setting affects membership, waitlist notifications, guest capacity, cancellation text, or payment timing, tell co-organizers before relying on the new default.
