Run a single-day tournament

This runbook begins after entries are confirmed and the competition draw is published. Keep the tournament management page open during play.

  1. Open Competition → Schedule and publish the day’s schedule.
  2. Use At fixed times when starts are dependable. Use After the previous match when a court should continue as soon as each match finishes.
  3. Open View tournament → Schedule and check the player view on a phone.
  4. Assign officials and confirm that hosts can access the tools they need.
  5. Post an update with arrival, parking, check-in, or weather information.
  1. Use Participants → Check-in as teams or players arrive.
  2. Resolve missing players, incomplete teams, and no-shows before their first affected match.
  3. Use Start tournament when it is available and the confirmed field, rosters, draw, and schedule are ready.

Starting the tournament activates competition once. You do not start it again for each stage or court.

For fixed-time schedules, open the scheduled match and record the result when play finishes. For court-order schedules, finish the earlier match before starting the next one on that court. Hop In Sports checks the court order, known opponents, team activity, official activity, and minimum rest.

Use Competition → Results to watch for matches that still need a result. Confirm the competitors and score before submitting. Use the correction flow for a scoring error instead of rebuilding the draw.

  • Post a concise update so players know what changed.
  • Use Edit or move selected matches to preview schedule changes.
  • Keep completed and in-progress matches in place.
  • Review downstream bracket matches included by the change.
  • Publish the draft, then check View tournament → Schedule again.

Open Competition → Results and review completion readiness. Confirm, cancel, or void every match as appropriate, and resolve every remaining stage or scheduled activity. Choose Complete tournament only when readiness is clear. Post a final update with results or follow-up information.
